Manafest’s (real name: Chris Greenwood) uphill climb began at age five. Years of childhood insecurity and fear gave way to a promising skateboarding career, but then an injury took that away, too. Music soon filled the void, and it would prove to be a perfect fit. Putting words to driving rhythms gave Chris a way to be a visible light (“manifest”) for other people wrestling with their own junk: strained relationships, betrayals, loss, broken dreams. Since 2001, Manafest has battled his way into the business—playing a thousand shows in nine countries, winning an armload of industry awards, and gaining recent victories.

Coffey Anderson began writing songs and playing guitar as a young kid. He used his bedroom closet as a studio to record an album, and when he sold 350 copies, he headed for Los Angeles to test his talent. His next move was to embrace the publishing power of the Internet by posting videos on YouTube. In each video, Coffey showed viewers how to play pop songs, praise songs and some of his own tunes. “My mission is to take inspirational music that you might hear on Sunday and turn it into something you want to listen to all week,” he explains. “You want that message to get you through the week—that you are going to carry on and make it through this, whatever you’re dealing with.”
